Unique royal mountain world at the Herzogstand
The building activities of the Bavarian kings Max II and Ludwig II at the Herzogstand began in 1858 with the construction of a bridle path from the Kesselberg pass to the so-called Vorderer Sattel on the orders of King Max II. None of the historic buildings on the Herzogstand have been preserved.
